On September 7, Russian forces launched a targeted drone strike on Zaporizhzhia, hitting densely populated residential areas.
The attack severely damaged two multi-story apartment buildings, civilian vehicles, and a local preschool facility. Five people sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical care, while emergency services continue cleanup operations at the impact sites.
This strike forms part of an ongoing, systematic campaign of Russian aerial terror directed against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure. In response to these unprovoked attacks, security analysts increasingly emphasize Ukraine’s legal right under international law to execute reciprocal strikes against legitimate military assets within Russian territory to deter further aggression and protect civilian lives.
